Family Photos

So I have posted pictures in the past that my bff Kaitlyn took of my son and I. Well now she has a flourishing photography business and we got the priviledge to have her photograph our family in Capitola.

and just so that you can see a glimpse of the amazing editing choices she gave us...

Are you in love with her work already?! She is fantastic! And I am so grateful to have these beautiful memories to hold on to for the rest of my life! Thank you Kaitlyn!!

You should go check out her KP Photography business page and "Like" it : ) And if you live in the bay area you should seriously consider her for any photo needs! She has very affordable pricing, and a portfolio that you can check out on her Facebook page.

I hope you take the time to make memories like these for your families too!

Chalkboard Paint Glass Canister Tutorial

So I have been gone for a while keeping busy with my son and my business. So I decided to make up for my absence with a tutorial on these cute glass canisters I just made! These helped me to organize my small apartment kitchen and make it a little cuter too : ).

First you need to find some empty canning jars. I found three different sizes that were the same shape at a local grocery store.

Next you need to tape off the rectangles to paint on the back of the jar where it is smooth.

I used this Valspar chalkboard paint that I got at my local hardware store.

First you are going to paint the lids on the jars so that when you are turning it, you won't get your hands in the wet paint on the jar. I did three coats of paint on all my lids.

Next you paint the taped off sections on the jar. You could even hand paint the rectangles on for a more shabby look. And make sure that you have straight paint strokes!!

I did four coats of paint on my jars and I only painted the large and medium sized jars and just did the lids on the small ones. Make sure you let the paint COMPLETELY dry before peeling off the tape. If any paint bleeds under the tape, just use a q-tip and some nail polish remover and it will be gone in a jif!

On the front of my large and medium sized jars I wrote what is in the containers. I also decided that I didn't like the way the chalk looked over the brush strokes and it was hard to write in such a small space. So I got a water soluble fabric pencil at my local fabric store and used that instead. It doesn't remove as easily as chalk, but I personally prefer the way it looks.

And on the lids I wrote the expiration date with a cute ♥.

On my small jars I only painted the lids since they were holding my spices. I once again wrote what the jar contained and the expiration date.

Now my cabinets are so much more organized and pretty to look at too :)

Happy crafting and organizing!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope that all the mommies out there feel loved and appreciated today! I'm spent the morning in bed eating strawberry crepes with my two guys. It's these small memories that last a life time! I am so grateful for the beautiful family God has blessed me with and for the privilege of being Luke's mommy. Now I'm off to get ready for brunch with my mother and aunt! God Bless!

Prayer Requests

I have decided to keep the prayer requests I received yesterday confidential. Thank you to those who shared with me. I will be praying over "L" and "E". I hope that you both will have good news to come and praises to sing. May God bless you and your families.

How Can I Pray For You?

I feel a little ashamed to say that the thought of praying for any of my readers never cross my mind. I saw this post today over at Along For The Ride and felt compelled to ask the same question.

So, is there anything that you could use prayer for? Even an unspoken? Do you have a praise you would like to share? I would love to lift you up in prayer or rejoice with you before the Lord. You can email me your requests at calibandg@yahoo.com.

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
2 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Luke's Photoshoot

So about a couple of weeks ago my BFF came to town and brought her new fancy shmancy camera and lenses with her. So of course we had to go play. I really needed some new pics of Luke for our house, and since it wasn't raining it seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I love this one because it looks like he is praying ♥

A keeper for sure!

If our local Cultive has another art contest, I'm totally entering this photo!

Rock on!

Couldn't you just die of cuteness?! Obviously this is my favorite!

Luke and Aunt Kaitlyn

Trust me, my son does not just pose for a picture. There was so much bribing going on here! First I tried jingling my keys above the camera, and my son just looked at me like I was crazy. Then I tried doing funny things behind Kaitlyn. That didn't work. Then i told him I was going to do a magic trick and to look at my hands (I don't even think he knows what a magic trick is...). And finally I promised him frozen yogurt. Yup, that worked! Sheesh! I act like I'm a rookie at bribing!

I am so excited to get some of these prints up in my house! Man I love that boy!! Oh and thank you to my BFFFFF Kaitlyn for taking these awesome pictures of my family! I am totally going to abuse my friendship with her : )
